• By Bjorg Eggerts The Space Between Us This book, in 2 parts, explores heartcentred living and emotional strength as frameworks for personal growth, relationships, leadership, and healing. Its core argument is that the heart should be understood in two complementary ways: as a symbolic and spiritual centre of love, compassion, and meaning, and as a biological organ involved in emotional regulation, nervous-system function, and well-being. It develops this idea through themes such as presence, openness, forgiveness, grief, self-compassion, boundaries, emotional truth, and relational safety. The text argues that genuine connection requires balancing love with discernment, vulnerability with protection, and compassion with clear boundaries. It also offers practical methods—such as breathing, mindfulness, journaling, lovingkindness, grounding, ritual, and gentle movement—to help people cultivate a more open, resilient, and reflective way of life. Beyond individual practice, the text extends these ideas to leadership, workplaces, and communities, suggesting that heartcentred approaches can strengthen trust, creativity, empathy, and collaboration. At the same time, it acknowledges important limitations: these practices can be constrained by trauma, cultural differences, institutional structures, bureaucracy, and systemic injustice.  Overall, the text presents heart-centred living as an integrated, practical, and reflective path to authenticity, healing, and meaningful human connection.
